USA - Kosher meat boss gets the flick

Image provided by Prime Equipment Group Mifflintown, Pa.-based Empire Kosher Poultry Inc. fired CEO Greg Rosenbaum on Oct. 10 over a disagreement over strategy, including an aborted plan to purchase distributor MVP Kosher Foods, according to JTA (Jewish Telegraphic Agency), which confirmed the information with Rosenbaum. 
 
 

The Empire board has since promoted Chief Operating Officer Jeff Brown to president, JTA reported.

Earlier this year, Rosenbaum was named to the board of the National Chicken Council for a three-year term.

JTA won the Simon Rockower Award for Excellence in Jewish Journalism for its 2011 feature “Inside Empire’s Slaughterhouse: The Life of a Kosher Chicken.”
