01 Aug 2012
White Castle will build a new frozen foods plant in Vandalia, Ohio, the company announced Wednesday.
The company plans to spend about $18 million to build the plant, which will permanently employ 100 people to produce frozen hamburgers and cheeseburgers for grocery and convenience stores nationwide.
Construction on the first phase of the 75,000-square-foot facility is set to begin this fall with estimated completion sometime next summer.
The plant will reportedly seek LEED certification upon completion.
This is White Castle’s third frozen foods plant. Existing plants are located in Covington, Ohio, and Lexington, Ky.
