Food lovers in the North east will be treated to another masterclass in the UK Butcher’s Shop of the Year, thanks to Davidsons Specialist Butchers in Inverurie.
Places on the inaugural butchery demonstration and masterclass on February 3rd were snapped up within hours of becoming available and such has been the demand that John Davidson and his expert team are to hold a second event in the Burn Lane shop on February 10th between 6.30pm and 9pm.
In addition to being crowned UK Butcher’s Shop of the Year, Davidsons Specialist Butchers also won a much coveted Diamond award along with six gold awards at the 2011 Smithfield Awards and most recently scooped accolades at the 2012 Scotch Pie Club World Championships.
John Davidson said: “We plan to showcase the work we carry out behind the scenes so that our customers can gain a better understanding of what we do, as well as giving them an insight into how we create our award-winning products.”
“During the evening we will show people how different cuts of meat are prepared and how these can benefit from different methods of cooking. We’ll show where these cuts come from on a carcass and talk about our total commitment to local produce.
He added: “We are really looking forward to this great, new way of interacting with our customers while sharing with them our passion and enthusiasm for what we do.”
Plans for future masterclasses include a specialised sausage making evening and a session looking at wild game produce from the North east.
Davidsons Specialist Butchers operate multi award-winning, family run specialist butchery outlets in Inverurie and at Dobbie’s Garden Centre, Aberdeen. The company was established in 2004 and offers a wide and diverse range of high quality premium specialist butchery produce over the counter in Inverurie and Aberdeen and via its recently-launched online shop.
