UK - ANSA Support's Sainsbury Red Tractor Ditch

17 Nov 2012

Ansa welcome's the Supports with Sainsbury stance on ditching red tractor logo from their Fresh meat and poultry in stores, as red tractor also refuses to recognise or endorse the prophetic method of halal.

with over three million Muslims in the UK ANSA believes that by red tractor not acknowledging the halal market they are indirectly being discriminating/racist against two of the UK's minority communities [Jewish and the Muslim}, this being quite ironical as they are being directly funded by EBLEX who collect over £6 million of levy from halal industry every year.

ANSA has canvassed EBLEX to withdraw this funding for such organisation as the red tractor as ANSA members are forced to contribute their levy to an organisation who does not recognize them full stop.

We hope with Sainsburys stance on ditching red tractor will gain momentum for the likes of Tesco to also ditch red tractor, bearing in mind Tesco's are one the  UK's largest multiply stores who have ensured that in over 43 of their outlets, their Muslim consumer are able to purchase fresh halal meat and chicken on a daily bases which conforms the prophetic method of halal.

So far the red tractor brand has totally ignored over 1500 halal butcher shop in the UK, had they recognised this, this much sort after niche market, Halal products have a reputation for being healthy, hygienic, humane and of good quality. This would only compliment and regenerate the farming community and stimulate rural economies.

ANSA would like to Thank Sainsbury and hope other organisation follow their foot steps by building a community that adheres to multi culture and not stigmatic any community on religious or race bases.
