The national food safety authority of Argentina (SENASA) has been given the go-ahead from Health Inspection Service Animal and Plant Department of Agriculture United States (APHIS) to export frozen cooked beef to that country.
An audit, part of the routine audit programme of the US health service, confirmed that Argentina meets the requirements of APHIS / USDA for export of the products.
The delegation from the APHIS toured the plants of Rioplatense and JBS Argentina, to verify compliance with the procedures established in the Code of Federal Regulations.
LAst week, a meeting took place between the US. delegation and SENASA officials, the national director of Food Safety and Quality, Ernesto Ferrarese and International Relations coordinator, Leonardo Mascitelli to verify the outcome of the audit.
