Doux Frangosul growers on strike in Brazil

Broiler farmers supplying Doux in Brazil have gone on strike amid reports that the company may be sold.
Around 40 of the growers who supply Doux Frangosul processing plants in the southern Brazilian state of Rio Grande have voted to suspend business with the company until a backlog of payments, allegedly going back two years, is cleared.
Foreign sales of fresh chicken cuts also benefitted from the significantly higher orders from Portugal for whole birds.
