Ireland - Sheep ear tags farmer's should have been organizing rather than prostesting
21 Mar 2010
Delays in the delivery of 12-digit tags for the electronic tagging of sheep (EID) could affect the live export trade to Britain and France.
Live exports were last year key in putting a floor on the trade, particularly for cull ewes.
However, as France and Britain are to insist on imported stock having an EID bolus or tag from June, it is feared the trade could be curtailed.
