Scotland - Texel sheep
23 Aug 2012
Scottish Texel sheep breeder, Malcolm Reid, Alloa, made his presence felt at a joint dispersal of the Kingsland and Penstones flocks at Worcester, last weekend, buying the top three highest priced lots at 15,000gns, 6000gns and 5000gns.
The sale was led by an ET Kingsland ram lamb that stood fourth in his class at the Great Yorkshire Show. He is by Penparc Spitfire and out of a Kingsland ewe by Knock Powerpacker.
Notably, it was the lamb's dam, by Knock Powerpacker and out of a Kingsland ewe by Muiresk Blondin, that made 6000gns selling to Mr Reid's Kelso flock, with a full ET sister to the sale leader, a ewe lamb, made 5000gns.
