UK - Profitability in the spotlight at EBLEX event for butchers

27 Jul 2012

Cuts, costings and increasing profits will come under the spotlight at an EBLEX event next month for butchers.

The event – organised in conjunction with Dalziels group and Asco Butchers Sundries – on August 14 at Christmas Hill Farm Shop, Lakenheath, will examine the range of possibilities for various cuts and marinades. It will also focus on new products for summer and quick meals, while giving tips on increasing profit margins.

Michael Richardson, EBLEX direct selling programme manager, said: “Our skills and knowledge transfer work is carried out through a programme of direct communications with businesses involved in direct meat sales, aimed at helping them maximise their potential and profitability.

“Our event in Lakenheath will provide the perfect forum for farm shop butchers to discuss the importance of new and different cuts and how to maximise profit from them. I’m sure those who attend take away some innovative ideas which they could apply in their businesses.”

EBLEX’s direct selling programme provides information, advice and practical meetings for businesses involved in direct meat sales. It covers farm shops, farmers markets and box schemes and focuses on meat quality and profitability.
