Livestock export company Livestock Shipping Services, or LSS, has purchased the Hillside abattoir at Narrogin, almost 200 kilometres south-east of Perth.
The settlement has gone through, despite the fact the company is still negotiating with AQIS over an unpaid debt incurred by the previous owner and still tied to the meatworks.
LSS is based in Perth and owned by Jordanian company Hijazi Ghosheh, a large importer and processor of meat products.
LSS livestock export manager for sheep, Scott Jewell, says the site looks pretty good, considering it's been closed for just over a year.
"Needs a bit of a tidy up, but it won't take long and looking at about two or three weeks it'll look very good," he said.
"So (we can) hopefully start cleaning this week actually.
We'll start employing a couple of people and we'll start cleaning it up this week."
