Good Clearance of Lleyn Sheep at Thainstone

At the Lleyn Sheep Society sale of registered Lleyn sheep at Thainstone Mart on Wednesday, 12th September, a good clearance in all categories was seen with 100% of the ewe lambs sold and the rams seeing a 90% clearance.

The champion females were awarded by judge Pamela Ritchie to W & N Lawrence, Blackpots with their pen of shearling ewes which went on to sell for the female top price of £175/head to L Cruden, Dyce.
 
Messrs Lawrence then sold three pens for £152/head and £150/head twice to A Logie, Turriff.
 
Laga Farms Ltd, Orkney sold their third prize pen for £145/head to RW Fraser & Son, Bonnykelly.
 
In the ewe lamb section J Riddell & Co of Nether Coullie, sold his 1st prize pen for £94/head.
 
The same vendor then sold a pen for £80/head to JCA Sharp, Alford.
 
The second prize pen from Henderson & MacLeod, Stonehaven sold for £76/head to GA Clubb, Ellon.
 
W & N Lawrence topped the ram section selling a shearling ram bred from a homebred sire for 600gns to AM Irvine, Huntley.
 
Henderson & MacLeod sold a J Kingan sired ram for 510gns to Drummuir Home, Keith.
 
The champion ram from Laga Farms Ltd bred from a Derek Steen sire sold for 500gns to J Riddell & Co. W & N Lawrence also sold for 500gns to J & A Strathdown, Huntley.
