Strong competition from bidders forced the Forrests to pay the top money of $20,000, compared to the 2011 top price of $17,000.
The 21 vendors at the 2012 Brangus Sale also managed to improve their clearance and average price on last year, with 79 bulls averaging $5827 at 98pc clearance compared to a $5159 average and 91pc clearance in 2011.
Just two bulls were passed in on Friday, one at $7000 and one at $2500.
15 females were also offered and sold for an average of $1686 and a top of $3000.
Attracting the top bid was the 25-month-old Bonox 596 who weighed in at 762kg and boasted a scrotal measurement of 39cm and a crush side semen score of 60pc.
The Forrest family purchased a total of three bulls averaging $13,666 and said the bulls would go into their commercial Brangus herd at Augathella.
Top price vendor, Bruce and Leanne Woodard, were delighted with the sale result, selling a total of six bulls for an average of $9750.
The Woodard’s also paid the second top price of $16,000 for the 870kg Valley View 585 from the Valley View Brangus Stud at Dungowan, NSW.
Valley View 585 boasted an EMA of 127sq.cm and scrotal measurement of 40cm.
The Valley View Stud sold six bulls averaging $8166/head.
Other sales of note included Riverview Ronnie who sold to George and Cathy Hoare of the Rockview Cattle Co for $14,000 on account of the Morgan family of the Riverview Brangus Stud at Casino.
Riverview Ronnie had performed well in the show ring in recent months, winning Supreme Exhibit at the Alstonville Show in 2011 and placing 5th in his bull class at Beef 2012.
The 800kg Jay-Eff Fergus also fetched $14,000, selling to the Oakleigh Grazing Co at Morven on account of Jeff Frank, Jay-Eff Brangus Stud, Monto.
Volume buyers of the sale included the Warrian family who purchased ten bulls averaging $5500 for their Injune based operation while Cornford Grazing Co purchased eight averaging $3437.
Bruce and Leanne Woodard paid the top price of $3000 in the female sale for Riverview Tina who was named Reserve calf champion heifer at Beef 2012.
She was sold on account of the Morgan family, Riverview Brangus, Casino.
