Ghana - Poultry disease problems

The veterinary authority sent an Immediate Notification dated 28 April to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE).

 

The report describes a single outbreak of Newcastle disease in Greater Accra on 14 April. There was an unexpected increase in mortality in birds aged seven weeks – about 95 per cent as 7,610 out of 8,160 birds died within a few days. The source of the outbreak is ascribed to mismanagement.
