China - China will import more pork

22 Sep 2012

Image provided by Hennessy Grading Systems The United States is expecting to export more pork to China, building on last year's second half 30 percent increase.

Increasingly Chinese pig farmers are cutting back production in response to high feed costs, and this will cause tightening domestic supplies.

China imported around 435,400 tonnes of pork from the United States last year.
