EU - A new snort in the farm subsidy trough

21 Oct 2012

Bulgarian producers to get state aid.

Bulgaria pig producers will be eligible for subsidies in the next fortnight.

The state aid has been approved by the European Commission.

The Bulgarian agriculture ministry asked for the aid to help producers meet the January 2013 partial stalls ban.

Bulgarian consumers were shocked by a 20 percent in pork prices in supermarkets last week, mainly due to rises in the the cost of imported German pork.
