Australia - Elders launch new website

05 Nov 2012

ELDERS has entered the online retail space with the launch of a new national business AgSure.

The major rural services supplier says for the first time Australian primary producers could conduct their farm supplies transactions via a website and have the products delivered straight to their farm.

Elders general manager – strategy and marketing, Mark Geraghty says the launch of AgSure represents a significant and exciting shift in the farm supplies market.

“Farmer buyer behaviour is changing; they’re shopping around, researching online and are looking to buy at a time, and price, that suits them,” Mr Geraghty said.

“Elders has always been in the business of offering solutions to help farmers get the most out of their operations and AgSure offers an alternative that hasn’t existed in the market until now,” he said.

AgSure is a different business model to the traditional Elders branch network.

“AgSure offers competitively priced, selected animal health and agricultural chemical products, upfront payment and no technical advice,” Mr Geraghty said.

“On the other hand, Elders’ 220 branches across the country offer a personal and tailored service, expert advice and a full suite of products and services,” he said.

“AgSure will complement the existing Elders branch network and will see the company able to offer a complete retail experience.”
