Australia - 2,000 store cattle yarded at Roma

A total of 1933 head of cattle were penned at Roma’s Prime Sale on Thursday.
 
 
 
Good numbers of crop-fed cattle were penned and sold to improved rates. 
 
Steers over 550kg topped at 198c/kg and averaged 188c. Steers 400-550kg sold to 197c and averaged 178c. 

The Loughnan family, Bowan, Amby, sold Santa steers to 198c for 660kg to return $1308. 

Bruce Smith, Coleraine, Mitchell, sold 568kg Santa steers to 197c to make $1121. 

The Price family, Mt Hope, Wallumbilla, sold 592kg Droughtmaster steers to 195c to return $1156. 

Bill and Mavis Graham, Gladfield, Roma, sold 690kg Droughtmaster-cross steers to 189c to make $1305. 

Georgina Partnerhip, Caldervale, Tambo, sold 587kg Brahman-cross steers to 185c to return $1088. 

Craig Bischoff, Woodlawn, Injune, sold 587kg Brahman-cross steers to 181c, $1064. 

Heifers over 450kg hit 181c to average 167c. Heifers 350-450kg returned 175c to average 161c. 

Jimmy Ford, Eden Hope, Roma, sold 557kg Angus-cross heifers to 181c to return $1009. 

Arbroath Grazing Co, Roma, sold 708kg Hereford-cross heifers to 177c to make $1254. 

Hawkins Pastoral Co, Speculation, Taroom, sold 545kg Charolais-cross heifers to 173c to make $944. 

Ardno Pastoral Co, Roma, sold 440kg Brahman heifers to 171c to return $754. 

The Spies family, Athlone, Dulacca, sold 503kg Angus-cross heifers to 170c to make $855. 

Cows over 500kg topped 170c to averaged 152c. Cows 400-500kg topped 175c to average 134c. Cows 300-400kg sold to 133c to average 111c. 

McWaters Pastoral Co, Releigh Station, Quilpie, sold 565kg Droughtmaster-cross cows to 170c to return $961. 

Taylor Grazing, Kevington, Injune, sold 682kg Santa-cross cows to 165c to make $1126. 

AA Co, Headingly Station, Mt Isa, sold 527kg Santa cows to 160c to return $843. 

The Richards family, Plain Farm, Roma, sold 615kg Droughtmaster-cross cows to 159c to make $979.
