Numbers lifted 21% at Dalby as the dry weather continues.
Light yearling steers to restockers were 3¢ lower on 205¢, while the heavy portion to feed reached 197¢/kg.
Light yearling heifers were 4¢ lower on 184¢/kg. Heavy grown steers to slaughter were 5¢ higher on 194¢/kg. Bullocks to processors were 5¢ dearer on 195¢/kg. Heavy cows to slaughter were 6¢ higher on 158¢/kg.
Numbers lifted at Casino with vealers making up a large percentage of the market. Medium weight vealer steers were 4¢ higher on 203¢, while medium weight vealer heifers to slaughter sold 14¢ dearer on 192¢/kg. Medium weight cows to processors were firm to dearer on 139¢/kg.
Consignments decreased at Warrnambool and quality was mixed. Heavy vealer heifers were firm to slightly cheaper on around 192¢/kg. Heavy grown steers were 10¢ dearer on 199¢, while medium weight dairy cows were 7¢ higher on 125¢/kg.
At the conclusion of Wednesday’s markets the Eastern Young Cattle Indicator (EYCI) was 1¢ lower on 370.50¢/kg cwt. Trade steers were 1¢ lower on 208¢, while medium steers were unchanged on 185¢/kg lwt. The heavy steer and feeder steer indicators were both firm on 194¢ and 200¢/kg lwt respectively. Medium cows were 1¢ higher on 139¢/kg lwt.
Numbers were similar at CTLX and quality remained mixed. Trade weight young lambs to slaughter were 27¢ higher on 464¢/kg cwt. Light 2 score old lambs were 16¢ dearer on 348¢, while trade weights were slightly cheaper on 377¢/kg cwt. Heavy 4 score old lambs were 18¢ higher on 409¢/kg cwt. Medium weight 3 score ewes to slaughter were 24¢ cheaper on 224¢/kg cwt.
Consignments decreased at Hamilton and quality was plain. Light 2 score old lambs to processors were 18¢ higher on 378¢, while trade weight 3 score lambs to slaughter were also 18¢ dearer on 416¢/kg cwt. Light 1 score Merino ewes averaged 171¢/kg cwt.
At the conclusion of Wednesday’s markets the eastern sates restocker lamb indicator was 4¢ higher on 417¢/kg cwt. Merino lambs eased 1¢ to 331¢, while light lambs were 5¢ stronger on 383¢/kg cwt. Trade lambs decreased 3¢ to 437¢, while heavy lambs were 1¢ lower on 423¢/kg cwt. The mutton indicator finished 3¢ lower on 233¢/kg cwt.
