Australia - 4,000 cattle yarded at CQLX Gracemere

A VERY mixed yarding of 4000 head came to hand at CQLX Gracemere on August 3.







The yarding consisted of 1810 bullocks and steers, 1370 heifers, 485 cows, 274 mickies, 35 bulls, and 26 cows and calves.
 
The large yarding brought forward some big lines of cattle, with one vendor yarding 664 head alone.
 
Cattle were drawn from Collinsville and Bowen in the north, Clermont to the west and all local areas.
 
Steers to 200kg made 220c/kg to average 191c, 200-300kg steers topped at 223c to average 194c, steers 300-400kg reached 188c to average 167c, 400-500kg steers peaked at 186c to average 172c, and those over 500kg made 171c to average 165c.
 
Heifers to 200kg topped at 202c to average 175c, 200-300kg heifers reached 199c to average 176c, heifers 300-400kg peaked at 180c to average 157c, and those over 400kg made 174c to average 162c.
 
Cows and calves topped at $910/unit to average $762.
 
Cows from 320-450kg peaked at 143c to average 125c, and those over 450kg reached 140c to average 134c.
 
Bulls and mickies made 207c to average 141c, and bulls over 600kg topped at 139c to average 127c.
 
Jan Cottam, Baralaba, sold 62 Braford bullocks to average 577kg at 164c to return $950/head, while Joe and Rachael Olive, Marlborough, sold 315 Brahman and Charbray weaner steers to average 200c to weigh 245kg and return $490.
 
Dean Clark, Baralaba, sold 51 prime No.0 Brahman heifers to top at 174c, weighing 452kg to return $787.
 
Mark and Nichole Hetherington, Baralaba, sold Santa steers to a top of 216c, weighing 206kg to return $446.
 
Bob Lucas, Dingo, sold Charbray/Santa-cross weaner steers for 221c, weighing 210kg to return $463, while SG and J Davies, Ubobo, sold Charbray-cross weaner heifers for 199c, weighing 237kg to return $473.
