Spain - Decline in poultry production

According to statistics of livestock production provided by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment, there was a decline in June 2012 in birds slaughtered, compared with the same month last year.
The total number of birds slaughtered during the month of June 2012 was 57,177, 4.57 per cent, compared with 60,031 birds killed the same month last year.
During the first half of 2012, 347,379 birds were slaughtered, 81 per cent fewer than the amount killed during the same period last year (350,208).
