GROWTHY tropical red bulls with sire appeal and length filed through the KM Cattle Co selling arena last week.
An increased sale average, higher top price and better clearance heralded the continued improvement in the support the stud receives and the quality of the sale line-up.
“We’ve got good honest bulls that are prepared on silage and they went to good repeat buyers who know the bulls do the job,” said stud principal, Ken Muller.
Roger, Cheryl Shane and Helen Hatton, Diamond H Santa Gertrudis stud, Wandoan paid $12,000 to secure the top priced bull in KM 343.
The second top price of $10,000 was paid by Paul, Ingrid, Brett and Adam Hatton, Santahat, Dareen, Eidsvold to secure KM Comet, another KM Swan Hill 8176 son with a 43 cm scrotal measurement.
Ted and Liz Woodall, Thangool purchased 2 polled sires including a 28 month old, KM Commando son, KM Captain for $9500 and the 20 month old, KM Database for $9000.
Nearly three quarters of the catalogued bulls sold for $5000 or less making the sale one of most affordable in the Central Queensland Santa Gertrudis sale calendar.
