Argentina - The Hilton quota shortfall
12 Jun 2010
With one month to go until the 2009-10 Hilton Quota for beef exports to the European Union

expires and much of the quota likely to go unfilled, Argentina on Tuesday distributed the quota for the 2010-11 season. Seventy-seven companies were given a share of the 28,000 ton Hilton Quota which allows Argentina to ship high-grade beef to the E.U. each year with low import duties; it runs from July 1 to June 30. At current prices, the full Hilton Quota is worth about $420 million a year.
