Scotland - Control plans still required

Testing for salmonella antibodies was suspended in Scotland on July 1.
 
 
 
Alternative sampling and testing methods are being explored by Quality Meat Scotland and SAC Veterinary Services.
 
A letter to Scottish pig producers from Quality Meat Scotland's Allan Ward stresses there is no change in the requirement for on-farm control plans for salmonella, as these are required by the Quality Meat Scotland assurance scheme and Brussels requires an effective national zoonoses control plan to be in place by 2014.
