COOTEHILL MART, one of the best known livestock marts in the northeast, is set to re-open.
Jimmie Brady, whose father established the mart, confirmed that he is planning to re-open the once-thriving salesyard on the site of an old railway station.
"We anticipate that this development can bring a bit of life back into the town, where business is pretty dull at the moment," he said.
Workmen are currently getting the old salesyard premises into shape, with special facilities being made available for Department personnel, staff, auctioneers, farmers -- and the livestock.
