JBS has taken full control of the Capital of Rigamonti Salumificio, one of the 10 largest cured meat processors in Italy.
In taking over Rigamonti, JBS has now terminated its activities at INALCA JBS.
With revenues in excess of €130 million per annum, Rigamonti is the leading brand in the bresoala sector, a specialty of Italian charcuteries product made of dried cured beef from the mountains of Northern Italy.
Since December of 2009, JBS has controlled 70 per cent of Rigamonti, which has three plants in the Sondrio region producing more than 7.000 tonnes of finished products annually and holds a 40% market share in this product category.
The acquisition of the remainder of Rigamonti confirms JBS interest in Europe. JBS is already studying further investments to increase production at the Rigamonti plants in the Vale de Valtelina region of Lombardy in North Eastern Italy.
The Company also has a significant presence in the Italian hide and leather processing industries in Arzignano (JBS Italia) and in Matera (Nonsolopelle).
Serving more than 4.000 customers directly across Europe, JBS also has a marked presence in the Italian hide and leather processing industries in Arzignano (JBS Italia) and in Matera (Nonsolopelle). The Company is also active outside of Italy with its specialty distribution bases in Belgium and England.
