Scotland - Time to get real on sheep ear tags
09 Sep 2012
Sheep farmers still concerned over the electronic identification of sheep will in the coming weeks be offered free workshops to familiarise them with the technology.
ID readers range from a very basic hand-held “stick” reader that produces a list of ear tag numbers, through to more complex systems which can be used when combined with weighing sheep or performing routine worming.
The workshops are being organised by Quality Meat Scotland and ScotEID.
