The head of the marketing agent for RM Williams Agricultural Holdings’ Cunnamulla property Mirage Plains, says the sale of the property is progessing well and he is confident the property will sell.
Phil Rourke from Landmark Harcourts told queenslandcountrylife.com that there had been “more than half a dozen” expressions of interests lodged for the 43,012ha (106,285 acre) organic property up until the August 2 deadline.
“Several are those expressions are being progressed and we are confident we will be able to make a deal by the end of September,” Mr Rourke said.
Mr Rourke said the property would likely be sold as a whole including the 32,800ML Warrego River water licences.
Located 58km south of Cunnamulla, Mirage Plains is the aggregation of six properties: Killara 5927ha, Willangie 5666ha, Coonberry 5667ha, Gerah Plains 6596ha, Mirage Plains 6622ha, and Mowellan 12,534ha.
Five of the six properties are bounded by the Warrego River on the eastern side.
There is 480ha of developed pivot irrigation country, 8100ha of potential dry land farming, and 29,600ha of grazing and support country.
The property has a good mix of soils associated with open plains and has established native grasses comprising lignum, channel, blue grass, Mitchell and buffel grass.
Improvements include two residences, a cottage, two shearing sheds, two sets of cattle yards, machinery shed, workshop and seven bores.
