Australia - Premier Bull Sale at Cloncurry Friday September 7

06 Sep 2012

Bull buyers attending the Beef Leaders Premier Bull Sale at Cloncurry on Friday September 7, will have access to high-quality Charolais, Brahman and Droughtmaster bulls carrying leading sirelines which have topped a number of high-profile, industry-leading stud sales in the past 12 months.

Nine of the Charolais bulls in the draft of David and Prue Bondfield's Palgrove Stud for Cloncurry's Beef Leaders Sale are sired by Palgrove Charm, Benchmark and Centurion, the bulls which provided the $40,000, $36,000 and $24,000 three highest priced lots of the annual Palgrove Sale at Dalveen, held only last week.

David Bondfield said they had sons of 15 individual sires in their Cloncurry sale team this year.

"This gives prospective bull buyers great selection diversity in sirelines whose progeny we are confident will perform exceptionally well in the Northern cattle country environment," he said.

Rondel Droughtmaster Stud, operated by the Carrington family,Winton, has a consistent record of success when their bulls go before the public at auction sales.

Droughtmaster bull buyers at the Beef Leaders Sale will be selecting from the Rondel draft of 19 bulls backed by bloodlines which have topped the Longreach Bull Sale, a feature all breeds event, for every one of the past four years.

The proven performance and popularity of the Rondel bloodlines resulted in their bulls at Longreach earlier this year recording the six highest prices of the sale.

Tartrus and Lancefield Brahman studs, run by the McCamley families of Central Queensland, have been at the leading edge of the Brahman industry for five decades.

Their own famous Tartrus Lancefield Brahman Sale, held at Rockhampton, is 39 years old this year.

Through the beef industry results of their bulls, Australia wide, year after year, buyer demand has resulted in the McCamleys studs' bloodlines in most years recording the nation's leading private vendor stud cattle sale figures.

Sires such as JDH Sir Watts Manso, Lancefield Hercules, Lancefield Ecstacy Manso, Lancefield Colossimo, Lancefield Mr Adonis, JDH Sir Reno Manso, Lancefield McCoy, Lancefield Buster Manso, KP Monty, Tartrus Reiner, JDH Mr Echo Manso, Lancefield Rick Manso and Tartrus Encore all have sons in the 63 lot Brahman section of this year's Beef Leaders Sale and have all been responsible for numbers of high selling bulls for Tartrus and Lancefield at their own annual sale.

Scott McCamley said their studs' bloodlines had always had great support from northern studmasters and commercial producers.
"They appreciate the wealth of genetic strength of optimum beef performance that we maintain in our Brahmans, and we always select sons of our top sires for this sale," Mr McCamley said.

Sam Daniels, of Brodie and Co. has worked hard to establish the Beef Leaders Premier Bull Sale over the past four years to give cattle producers in the north 'on the spot' access to high-quality bulls from the leading studs of the Charolais, Brahman and Droughtmaster breeds.

"The quality, breeding background and proven performance of these bloodlines, and the reputation and integrity of the vendor studs Palgrove, Tartrus, Lancefield and Rondel, make this a very valuable bull buying opportunity for cattle producers this year," Mr Daniels said.

Sale catalogues and sale supplementary weight sheets are available from McCaffrey's Australian Livestock Marketing, Rockhampton (07) 4922 6311 or Brodie & Co, (07) 4742 1144.
