Supply more than doubled at Toowoomba although not all the usual buyers were present. Light weight yearling steers to feed were 1¢ lower on 202¢, while light weight yearling heifers to slaughter were 3¢ higher on 164¢/kg. Heavy grown steers to processors were 5¢ cheaper on 184¢, while heavy cows to slaughter were 2¢ dearer on 152¢/kg.
Numbers jumped at Tamworth and yearlings were well represented. Light weight yearling steers to restockers were 6¢ higher on 211¢, while light weight yearling heifers to restockers were 9¢ lower on 166¢/kg. Medium weight grown steers to feed were 2¢ dearer on 172¢, while light weight grown heifers reached 169¢/kg. Heavy cows to slaughter were 5¢ higher on 141¢/kg.
Consignments decreased at Wagga and quality was mixed. Medium weight vealer steers to restockers averaged 210¢/kg. Medium weight yearling steers to feed were 4¢ higher on 195¢, while heavy weights to feed settled on 189¢/kg. Light weight yearling heifers to feed were 3¢ cheaper on 176¢/kg. Heavy weight grown steers to slaughter were 7¢ higher on 193¢, while heavy weight cows to slaughter were 5¢ lower on 138¢/kg.
At the conclusion of Monday’s markets the Eastern Young Cattle Indicator (EYCI) was unchanged on 362.25¢/kg cwt. Trade and medium steers were both firm on 203¢ and 184¢/kg lwt. Feeder steers were 2¢ higher on 193¢, while medium cows were 1¢ lower on 131¢/kg lwt. The heavy steer indicator was unchanged on 184¢/kg lwt.
Consignments were firm at Dubbo and quality was mixed. Young trade weight lambs to slaughter were 20¢ higher on 440¢/kg cwt. Light weight 2 score old lambs to processors were 19¢ dearer on 308¢, while trade weight old lambs to slaughter were 27¢ higher on 369¢/kg cwt. Heavy 4 score old lambs lifted to average 382¢/kg cwt. Medium weight 2 score Merino ewes were 13¢ lower on 181¢/kg cwt.
Numbers at Bendigo lifted and quality improved. Trade weight 3 score young lambs to slaughter were 6¢ lower on 404¢/kg cwt. Light weight 1 score restocker Merino old lambs were 8¢ higher on 313¢/kg cwt. Medium weight 3 score Merino ewes were 6¢ cheaper on 176¢/kg cwt.
At the conclusion of Monday’s markets the eastern states restocker lamb indicator decreased 7¢ to 380¢/kg cwt. Merino lambs lifted 4¢ to 295¢, while light lambs gained 9¢ to 354¢/kg cwt. Trade lambs increased 2¢ to 391¢, while heavy lambs strengthened 2¢ to 379¢/kg cwt. The mutton indicator finished 2¢ lower on 176¢/kg cwt.
