A central Queensland grazier says he's gotten through a personal tragedy by finding unexpected joy with a local cattle club.
The clubs teach school students about cattle and help them exhibit at shows.
James Sinclair, from Monto, west of Bundaberg, says coaching the local high school cattle club has given him new energy after the death of his wife.
"In January 2010, we had a tragedy; I lost my wife and of course she was always involved with the cattle club," he said.
"I came up with the theory that if I kept myself busy and kept myself occupied in things that were happening around me, (I'd be okay).
"The students, they did so well, it kept me occupied and kept everything going for me."
