04 Oct 2012
Eastern states lamb numbers at markets reported by MLA’s National Livestock Reporting Service increased 9% this week. Next weeks reduced trading days due to the long weekend should see supplies tighten, although more attention is likely to be fixed upon the forecast rain in the coming days.
At the conclusion of Thursday’s markets the eastern states restocker lamb indicator increased 19¢ week-on-week, to 407¢/kg cwt. Merino lambs gained 24¢ to 313¢/kg cwt, while light lambs were 21¢ higher on 365¢/kg cwt. Trade lambs lost 3¢ to 387¢/kg cwt, while heavy lambs lifted 13¢ to 388¢/kg cwt.
