Leading their charge in the showring was their Poll Dorset ram - Armdale 152 sired by Armdale Park 24 - who is certainly no stranger to the show scene having won the grand champion Poll Dorset ram gong at the Sydney Royal this year.
The hefty ram, which Mr Armstrong said would now weigh close to 140 kilograms, was judged the best ram in show and overall supreme exhibit by judge Marshall Douglas, Abelene Park Poll Dorset stud, Woolomin.
Entries were back this year due to major competitors the Gilmore family, Tattykeel stud, Oberon, absence due to the event clashing with their embryo transfer program.
Seasonal conditions affected other regular studs from near Dubbo attending.
However, Cowra remains the largest show for Dorset sheep in NSW, there were 230 entries from 25 studs.
