Consignment at Roma prime lifted in response to the wet week last week.
Heavy grown C4 steers eased 10¢ to make 180¢ while bullocks ranged from 173¢ to 188¢/kg.
Light C4 grown heifers lost 6¢ to average 165¢ while the heavy portion settled on 167¢/kg.
Cows to restockers varied from 115¢ to 136¢ while the heavy D4’s topped at 160¢ to make 146¢/kg.
Dubbo’s throughput remained relatively firm as the usual buyers competed in a mixed price market.
Medium vealer steers to restock remained unchanged on 207¢ while medium C2 vealer heifers to process topped at 204¢ to settle on 193¢/kg.
Medium weight C2’s to feed eased 1¢ on 215¢ while light yearling heifers strengthened 9¢ to make 189¢/kg.
Medium C2 grown steers ranged from 171¢ to 207¢ while the C4 grown heifer portion averaged 174¢/kg. Heavy D3 cows topped at 158¢ to average 153¢/kg.
Numbers at Bairnsdale were firm with a good yarding of supplementary fed cattle.
Medium C3 steers to process eased 4¢ to average 225¢ while the heifer portion saw increased demand to make 223¢/kg.
Heavy C4 yearling steers topped at 205¢ to settle on 203¢ whereas the heavy C3 heifers lifted 2¢ on 190¢/kg.
Bullocks remained relatively firm on 196¢ while light D3 heifers made 166¢/kg. Medium D2 dairy cows varied from 128¢ to 144¢ while D4 beef cows strengthened 4¢ on 159¢/kg.
At the close of Thursday’s market the Eastern Young Cattle Indicator (EYCI) remained unchanged on 387¢/kg. Trade steers eased 1¢ to make 212¢ while the medium steer indicator settled on 182¢/kg.
Heavy steers declined 2¢ on 187¢ while the medium cow and feeder steer indicators remained firm on 141¢ and 206¢/kg respectively.
Lamb numbers slightly decreased at Wagga and quality was good across heavy grades. Light 3 score lambs to slaughter sold 6¢ higher on 445¢/kg cwt.
Trade 3 score lambs to processors were 5¢ higher on 440¢, while heavy lambs were 7¢ dearer on 439¢/kg cwt.
Extra heavy 4 score lambs were 11¢ cheaper on 386¢/kg cwt. Sheep consignments lifted with medium weight 2 score Merino ewes increasing 4¢ to 334¢/kg cwt.
At the conclusion of Thursday’s markets the eastern states restocker lamb indicator was 9¢ higher on 432¢/kg cwt. Merino lambs lifted 4¢ to 391¢, while light lambs increased 9¢ to 429¢/kg cwt.
Trade lambs gained 3¢ to 433¢, while heavy lambs were 1¢ better on 411¢/kg cwt. The mutton indicator finished 3¢ lower on 321¢/kg cwt.
