De acuerdo a la información oficial del Ministerio de Agricultura y Desarrollo Rural de Colombia, de fecha 19 de abril de 2011, las ventas y exportaciones de ganado y carne de Colombia para Venezuela, acordadas entre los gobiernos y sectores empresariales de ambos países, para reactivar el intercambio binacional agropecuario, son: 6.500 reses (gordas) de las cuales 60% en pie (3.900 reses) y 40% en carne en canal (2.600 reses a ser sacrificadas en Colombia). Además 3.000 mautes o ganado en pie de 200 a 500 kilos de peso y 3.500 reses cargadas (vientres preñados) para el repoblamiento bovino en Venezuela.
